Palestinian authorities denounce that the bodies, in an advanced state of decomposition, show signs of abuse and torture, such as handcuffs and blindfolds, making identification difficult.

handed over to the Red Cross for its return along with 15 other bodies of Palestinians that it held in its possession, in exchange for the body of a hostage handed over last night, announced the Ministry of Health of the government of the Strip.

“The Ministry of Health announces the receipt of 15 bodies of martyrs released today by the Israeli occupation and the Red Cross, bringing the total number of bodies received to 135”, states the statement from the Ministry of Health.

As with previous deliveries of bodies, the ministry warned that some bodies showed signs of “abuse, beatings, were handcuffed and blindfolded”.

So far, the Nasser Hospital, in Khan Yunis (south of Gaza), where the bodies are taken, has only been able to identify seven of the bodies that arrived, due to their serious state of deterioration. One of the center’s doctors sent the Agency EFE photographs of one of the bodies received, in which a deformed face was seen and the head was still tied to the bandage with which his eyes had supposedly been blindfolded. His hands were still handcuffed behind his back and numerous marks and wounds were visible on his arms.

The deterioration of the bodies is such that the Nasser Hospital had to organize visits with the families of the missing in which images of the corpses are shown, so that one of them can recognize them and contribute to their identification.
