Erik Kaliňák and Veronika Cifrová Ostrihoňová recently sat down for a discussion as part of the TV Markíza show From the Tatras to Brussels. An excerpt from it was published by the politician on . Slovak MEPs are often divided when voting. It was no different in July, when members of the European Parliament (EP) in Strasbourg rejected a motion of no confidence in the European Commission (EC).
Eight Slovak MEPs voted for its adoption, seven were against. Miriam Lexmann voted to keep the Commission under the leadership of President Ursula von der Leyen. The proposal was also rejected by Ľudovít Ódor, Ľubica Karvašová, Martin Hojsík, Veronika Cifrová Ostrihoňová, Michal Wiezik and Lucia Yar.
Milan Uhrík and Milan Mazurek, as well as non-aligned deputies, voted for the vote of no confidence in the EC Monika Beňová, Ľuboš Blaha, Erik Kaliňák, Judita Laššáková, Katarína Roth Neveďalová and Branislav Ondruš.
“So did he sign or not? The big opponents of the Green Deal in Smyrna have signed a motion to dismiss Ursula von der Leyen. A proposal that also criticizes that the EU is retreating from the Green Deal! Mr. Kaliňák Jr. should not lie. Not even to the telly. And not by chance,” wrote Ostrihoňová k of the video with Erik Kaliňák, which she published on Thursday.
The video is edited in such a way that it shows the MEP strongly criticizing Kaliňák’s actions, while at one point the MEP leans back and looks up, and they continue to oppose each other. You can find the VIDEO below.
Even Ostrihoňova’s husband did not miss this moment of verbal exchange.
