In a seizure considered “unusual”, the Federal Revenue Service found geckos, alligators and snakes hidden in a passenger’s backpack inside a Paraguayan taxi.
The action took place on Saturday night (18), at the Ponte Internacional da Amizade, the main connection between Foz do Iguaçu, in Paraná, and Cidade do Leste, in Paraguay.
According to the police, the person responsible for loading the exotic animals was a Brazilian man who was traveling towards Brazil when he was approached by the revenue team. Inside the suspect’s backpacks were found 10 geckos, 12 alligators, an anaconda and a python. All the animals were alive.
