The general secretary of the PCP, Paulo Raimundo

The general secretary of the PCP, Paulo Raimundo, said this Saturday, in Porto, that he is not sure that the vote counting process for the Lisbon Chamber has been completed, and that the party intends to analyze “the considerations taken into account”.

Speaking to journalists after a rally in Porto, Paulo Raimundo said this Saturday that “the general count is finished, I’m not sure that the process is complete.”

“So we are evaluating now as well, either the numbers or the reports“, added the general secretary of the PCP.

When asked why he is not sure that the process has been completed, Paulo Raimundo replied that the announcement was made this Saturday and that “It’s not just a numbers programis also a program considerations about the numbers“.

“We are looking at all the possibilities that exist so that, if we understand, the process does not end this Saturday“, detailed Paulo Raimundo.

The final results of the municipal elections in Lisbon have been determined, after counting 61 votes in São Domingos de Benfica which had defective ballots, 7 votes went to the CDU and 1 to Chega.

According to Chega’s source, there was “an error” in the ballots used during early voting, which “did not contain the necessary box for voting” in the candidacy of André Ventura’s party.

With this count, three more than the CDU, which allows André Ventura’s party elect two councilors — one more than the CDU.

Paulo Raimundo remembered “the circumstances” in which CDU ran in Lisbon, where managed to climb the vote: “We increased 1,780 more votes than in the last elections. We should have increased at least 1,800 more and we had this problem solved.”

Let’s see what this will lead to“, continued the communist general secretary.

In his speech, which lasted almost half an hour, Paulo Raimundo declared the PCP as the “single instrument of resistance and at the service of youth against the offensive that is emerging with all means”, in an allusion to the labor package that the Government is preparing.

Paulo Raimundo also sent a message to the European Unionwho reminded that Portugal is “a sovereign country” and because of this, he does not accept people saying “how Social Security should be managed in the country”, emphasizing that the revenue comes from people’s work.
