Two people lost their lives in a tragic traffic accident in the cadastral territory of the city of Dunajská Streda. The accident happened on Saturday (October 18) on the I/63 road at approximately 8:00 p.m., Veronika Dachová, spokeswoman for the Regional Directorate of the Police Force in Trnava, informed. Two other people were slightly injured in the accident.
The accident happened at the intersection of the Povodská and I/63 roads in the direction from the village of Povoda to Dunajská Streda. According to the information obtained so far, the driver of the VW Passat did not respect the traffic signs and collided with the Fiat Freemont. In the accident, the 37-year-old driver of the Volkswagen and his 38-year-old passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Fiat car was breathalyzed with a negative result. Possible consumption of alcohol by the Volkswagen driver will be determined by taking biological material. A prosecutor and an expert from the road transport department were present at the scene of the accident.
In connection with the accident, the investigator started criminal prosecution for the crime of homicide. All the circumstances under which the tragic vehicle collision occurred will be subject to further investigation and expert examination.
