Defender Gustavo Gómez was scolded by the refereeing of Flamengo x Palmeiras, this Sunday (19), after a 3-2 defeat, at Maracanã, in the Brasileirão.
The Paraguayan defender accused referee Wilton Pereira Sampaio of having closed the microphone and “talking nonsense” to him.
“In the Brasileirão, we couldn’t beat (Flamengo). But we won in major finals (Supercopa do Brasil and Libertadores). They are two great teams. But I’m sad. (Wilton) Sampaio is one of the most superb in world football. I’ve been here for almost eight years. He has something against Palmeiras’ success. I’m sad about that. He closed the microphone to talk nonsense to me. I have a code. What happens on the field stays on the field. I’m not going to speak,” he said.
