Since its founding, he has directed the magazine and, after leaving the presidency of OSCOT, he assumed the role of president of the Advisory Board. Anes was highly involved in the creation of the citizens’ group Movimento de Apoio do Admiral a Presidente (MAAP), although he later stepped aside and decided to promote his own.

The police continue to investigate the circumstances of the attack, in particular to determine the motives and identify those responsible for the attempted murder.
