Zoetermeer – Marcel Hirscher, who is recovering from a torn cruciate ligament, will miss the opening World Cup giant slalom in Sölden on Sunday. Patrick Riml, project manager of Hirscher’s sponsor Red Bull, announced this on Monday on Servus TV. “Unfortunately he won’t be competing. The rehab went great, it looked very good, but unfortunately he was sick for the last two and a half weeks,” said Riml, referring to the lack of training days as a result.
