New outbreaks of viral disease: More cases are reported from a village and a city in the south of Slovakia!

The Regional Office of Public Health (RÚVZ) in Komárno recorded 17 new cases of viral hepatitis A (VHA) during the past week. All of them were recorded in two new epidemic foci in the district in the village of Bajč and the town of Nesvady, informed Denisa Masárová from RÚVZ Komárno.

Cumulatively, as of October 20, a total of 160 diseases were reported in the territory of the Komárno RÚVZ in six active epidemic outbreaks of VHA. Tri of them are located in Hurbanov, where no new disease was reported during the past calendar week. A total of 137 illnesses have been reported in the city so far. All were recorded in families living in conditions of low social and hygienic standards.

One active epidemic outbreak is registered in the city of Komárno. No new diseases were reported for the 42nd calendar week. Cumulatively, a total of six diseases have been reported in the city so far. It was a family epidemic among people living in conditions of low social and hygienic standards.

A new epidemic outbreak arose in the village of Bajč, where nine illnesses were reported during the past week. All cases were recorded in the Kotelnica section in persons living in conditions of low social and hygienic standards with a total number of 52 exposed persons.

Another new epidemic focus in the region was added in the city of Nesvady. Eight diseases have been reported in persons living in conditions of low social and hygienic standards, with a total number of 15 exposed persons.
