- The Office of the Inspection Service investigates media information about a traffic accident.
- Director Hajnovič claims that he was in the accident by accident.
The Office of the Inspection Service deals with the information that was published in the media in connection with the participation of the director of the Regional Directorate of the Police in Nitra, Branislav Hajnovič, at the scene of the traffic accident of the director of the Slovak Information Service, Pavel Gašpar. This was confirmed by the spokeswoman of the police inspectorate, Andrea Dobiášová.
The member of the National Council of the Slovak Republic, Martina Bajo Holečková (SaS), informed about the investigation. She already testified at the police inspection in connection with the accident. “Regional police director Hajnovič admitted that he was at the scene of the accident, but he claims that he just happened to pass by and stopped there because there was no police exit at the scene yet,” she stated.
“Pavol Gašpar claimed on television that Hajnovič arrived at the scene of the accident only two and a half hours after the accident. However, by that time the police patrol had already been there,” stated the deputy. She also pointed to Gašpar’s claims that he did not call anyone from the scene of the accident. “However, there are photos and videos from which it is clear that he is on the phone with someone,” she said.
On August 30, Gašpar was involved in a traffic accident in Nitra on Dobšinského Street, where two passenger motor vehicles collided. A minor suffered minor injuries in the accident. The police subjected both participants in the accident to a breath test for the presence of alcohol, in both cases the result was negative.
