There is a wall of silence, on the part of the PJ, regarding the current investigation by the Public Ministry coordinated by the 1st section of DIAP in Lisbon, but from what SIC found, the PJ states in a closed cycle that the PSP did not respect a law that is already 30 years old.
This will be decree 81/95, which assigns the PJ’s National Unit to Combat Drug Trafficking reserved competence to investigate drug trafficking crimes of this magnitude.
PJ only found out through the media

Contacted by SIC, the PSP denies alleged coordination failures between the two police forces. Suspects in pre-trial detention
