"We will go to San Francisco": Trump threatens to send the military as he has done in other cities

The National Guard military deployments ordered by Trump to the cities of Chicago and Portland were, however, suspended by judges, who alleged the lack of credible elements that would justify such a measure.

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, today threatened to send National Guard troops to San Francisco, as he has done in other large urban centers in the country led by Democrats.

“We will go to San Francisco”, replied the US President to a journalist from the television channel who asked him if this California city would be next on his list.

Since his return to power, Washington and Memphis, contradicting and ignoring the position of local authorities, the Democratic Party, to, according to him, combat illegal immigration and crime, actions that were strongly criticized by the opposition.

National Guard military deployments ordered by Trump for the cities of Chicago and Portlandwho alleged the lack of credible elements that would justify such a measure.

“The difference (in relation to Chicago) is that in San Francisco they want us”, assured the Republican President, without explaining what he meant by that.

The executive chairman of San Francisco-based computer giant Salesforce, Marc Benioff, recently said he thought the army should be deployed to the city, but the local mayor, Democrat Daniel Lurie, and other local representatives expressed their opposition to such a move, and the businessman ended up reneging and apologizing.

Donald Trump, in turn, reiterated, this Sunday, thatthreat of resorting to a state of emergency pto continue with these deployments, criticized not only by the opposition but by civil rights organizations.

“Don’t forget, I can use the ‘Insurrection Act,'” Trump said, referring to old laws that authorize the use of armed forces against citizens.

At the end of September, Donald Trump also left the idea, before North American generals and admirals, that “some of these dangerous cities” could be used “as training grounds” for the military.
