In a post on social media, federal deputy states that he will take to Palácio do Planalto the learning acquired throughout his career in social movements, as he was leader of the MTST
The federal deputy and now chosen as chief minister of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic, (PSOL-SP), used social media to thank him for the appointment and highlight his objectives in the government of President Luiz Inácio da Silva (PT). The announcement was made this Monday (20), and the appointment will be made official in the Official Gazette of the Union this Tuesday (21). “I thank President @lulaoficial for the invitation to be minister of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic”, he wrote.
The invitation, as found out by the Estadão/Broadcastwas made at least five months ago. Boulos stated that he will take to Palácio do Planalto the learning acquired throughout his career in social movements. Before entering institutional politics, the new minister was leader of the Homeless Workers Movement (MTST).
He also highlighted that his main mission will be to expand dialogue with the population. “My first task will be to help put the government on the streets, taking the achievements and listening to popular demands in all states of the country.”
With the appointment of Boulos, this is the 13th change of command in the first echelon of the Lula government since the beginning of the third term, in 2023. Boulos replaces Márcio Macêdo (PT), former treasurer of Lula’s campaign in 2022. Macêdo was facing internal wear and tear and his departure was already taken for granted by allies. Confirmation of the exchange was communicated personally by Lula last week.
To officially announce the change, Lula made a publication on the networks alongside the politicians. “I invited congressman @GuilhermeBoulos to take on the role of chief minister of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic. He will replace his partner @MarcioMacedoPT, whom I thank for all the work done to expand and strengthen social participation in our government”, wrote the president.
