Europe and Ukraine are working on a 12 point plan to end the war as revealed by the agency ‘Bloomberg’. This plan includes a division of territory between Ukraine and Russia that would follow the current battle linesbraking the new requests from Vladimir Putin for kyiv to hand over territories.
The proposal of distribution according to the lines of combat as they are today echoes that which, in recent days, the President of the United States, Donald Trump. “Stop the battle lines, go home, stop killing people and finish,” he wrote last week after having a telephone conversation with Putin and after a tense meeting at the White House with Volodymyr Zelensky.
The plan that the Europeans are negotiating with kyiv, always according to Bloomberg information, also includes the establishment of a peace meeting who would oversee the implementation of the 12 points and who would be chaired by Trump.
This is not a definitive plan and details could still change, according to agency sources. It would also need the green light from the White House, and senior European officials could travel to Washington this week to try to get that support.
Children, prisoners and reconstruction
Once Russia accepted the ceasefire and Moscow and kyiv committed to stopping territorial advances, the plan contemplates the rreturn to Ukraine of all deported children heyPrisoner exchanges.
Ukraine would have security guaranteesreconstruction funds and a way to join the European Union. Las sanctions on Russiameanwhile, hewould gradually rise. $300 billion in frozen central bank reserves, however, would only be unlocked if Moscow agrees to provide money for Ukraine’s reconstruction.
Moscow and kyiv would begin negotiations on the governance of the occupied territories but neither Europe nor Ukraine would legally recognize those territories as Russia.
