Countries negotiate a bilateral meeting on Sunday (Oct 26) during both leaders’ trip to Malaysia

The president (PT) said this Monday (20.Oct.2025) that Brazil “didn’t lower his head” when was it “offended” by the President of the United States, Donald Trump (Republican Party). The statement was given at a time of expectation by one of the leaders. If confirmed, it will be held on Sunday (Oct 26) during the East Asia Summit in Malaysia.

“When President Trump attacked Brazil and offended Brazil, we didn’t lower our heads. Although we are not as big as them, we have character and dignity. That’s what makes a country become a nation”said Lula during the launch of Reforma Casa Brasil, at the Palácio do Plateau.

The president also stated that a country can only be considered sovereign when it guarantees basic conditions to the population and once again criticized the Brazilian economic elite. “They say we spend too much. But the same businesspeople who complain about us have more than R$500 billion in tax exemptions and don’t want to give up 1% of that”he declared.

He demanded a reduction in interest rates and criticized businesspeople who resist giving up tax exemptions. O BC [Banco Central] You will need to start lowering interest rates. Everyone knows what we inherited and that we are preparing the country to have a more serious monetary policy”he declared, mentioning the Ministers of Finance, Fernando Haddad, and the Minister of the Civil House, Rui Costa.

BRAZIL HOUSE RENOVATION

The program is yet another move by the government towards lower-middle income voters. The new measures complement this month. As shown by the Poder360, the president aimed at this segment of the population.

The loans will range from R$5,000 to R$30,000 and can be requested by people with a gross monthly family income of up to R$9,600.

The strategy now mobilizes 2 mechanisms. Of the R$40 billion announced, R$30 billion comes directly from the Social Fund – a public resource that is part of the state budget. Another R$10 billion will be contributed by Caixa Econômica Federal, via SBPE (Brazilian Savings and Loan System), to serve families with incomes above this amount.

Also present at the ceremony were:

  • (PT), minister of the Secretariat of Institutional Relations of the Presidency of the Republic;
  • (MDB), Minister of Cities;
  • (PT), Minister of the Civil House of the Presidency of the Republic;
  • Minister of the Social Communication Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic;
  • (PT), Minister of Finance;
  • Minister of Women;
  • Guilherme Boulos (Psol-SP); federal deputy.
