Neymar continues to recover after an injury to his right thigh and, therefore, was left out of Santos’ squad for the duel against Vitória this Monday (10/20), at 9:30 pm (Brasília time), in Vila Belmiro. The attacking midfielder has not played since September 14th.
The 33-year-old star is in the final stages of recovery from a grade 2 strain in the rectus femoris muscle of his right thigh, an injury suffered last month. The rehabilitation process has shown good progress, and the expectation is that he will be available to the team again from November.
Both the medical team, Neymar’s staff and the Santos FC technical committee chose to adopt a conservative stance, avoiding accelerating the return to the pitch. The club even prefers to contain the fans’ enthusiasm, taking into account the player’s recent history of injuries.
— The focus is to ensure that he returns completely recovered, without the risk of a new injury. Any decision on return will be based on clinical examinations and thorough physical tests — said a source linked to the Santos medical department.
In the current 2025 season, Neymar has played 21 matches, with six goals scored and three assists. His contract with the club runs until December, and the striker has already shown interest in remaining, if Peixe confirms its stay in Series A.
