LIVE Gaza | Last minute, monitoring of the fragile truce

El Periódico

US President Donald Trump said on Monday that he is giving Hamas a “small chance” to comply with the Gaza truce deal with Israel, but warned that the Palestinian Islamist group will be “eradicated” if it does not do so. “We agreed with Hamas that they are going to be very good, that they are going to behave. And if they don’t, we are going to go and we are going to eradicate them. If necessary, they will be eradicated,” said the Republican at the White House. Trump sent his special envoy, Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner, his adviser and son-in-law, to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday to discuss “developments and updates in the region.” This announcement comes after a weekend in which several attacks threatened to end the fragile ceasefire negotiated almost two weeks ago by the US president.
