  • Former President Joe Biden has completed radiation treatment for prostate cancer.
  • Treatment took place at a clinic in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
  • In September, he underwent Mohs surgery to remove skin tumors.
  • Biden ended his presidential campaign and endorsed Kamala Harris.

The ex-president was undergoing treatment at an oncology clinic in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. According to CNN it is not currently known what the next steps in treatment will be, and Biden’s spokesman did not provide details on other options.

Biden (82) announced in May that doctors had diagnosed him with prostate cancer that had spread to his bones. His colleagues subsequently specified that it is a more aggressive form of the disease, which, however, seems to be sensitive to hormones. The severity of prostate cancer is classified using the so-called Gleason score, which ranges from 6 to 10, with the most aggressive is prostate cancer, with scores of 8, 9 and 10. Biden’s office said his score was a 9.

At the beginning of September, the ex-president underwent the so-called Mohs surgery to remove skin tumors. It was a procedure where layers of skin are removed until no trace of cancer remains. The former president left the White House in January, just months after suspending his re-election campaign and endorsing his vice president, Kamala Harris.
