Crowds of supporters of the former president were waiting for him to leave his home for the last time in the next relatively long time to go to and begin serving the five-year prison sentence imposed on him after his corruption conviction.
At his side, his wife, former model and singer, the impressive Carla Bruni, accompanied him to the car that would take him to the penitentiary that will host the 70-year-old, saying goodbye with a warm hug and a passionate kiss.

A squad of police officers had lined up at the entrance of the prisons, to “receive” the important prisoner. Various personalities have been detained at La Sante in the past, such as Venezuelan international terrorist Ilic Ramirez Sanchez, better known as Carlos the Jackal, and Jean-Luc Brunel, owner of a modeling agency and close associate of convicted sex offender and pimping stockbroker Jeffrey Epstein. Brunel was also found dead in his cell in 2022, while serving a sentence for raping minors.
