There is less and less time left until the celebrations: All Saints’ Day and All Saints’ Day. Probably like most Poles on November 1-2 you plan to visit your deceased loved ones in cemeteries. You may have even bought candles and decorative bouquets for graves.
In addition to them, don’t forget to take a lighter, and… double-sided tape. Thanks to the latter, you will prevent the destruction of expensive decorations if the weather is capricious and the wind decides to take its toll.
The double-sided tape trick in the cemetery is used by more and more people every year. It gains popularity especially at the beginning of November (around All Saints’ Day). But what exactly is it about?
And about using double-sided adhesive tape (foam, acrylic), which is resistant to extreme weather conditions, i.e. rain or windto stick bouquets or wreaths to the tombstone to prevent them from falling over in unfavorable weather conditions. Without this, the decorations could fall from the monument to the ground or even “fly” with the gust onto neighboring tombstones and be destroyed.
This way of securing the bouquets is safer than drilling or using heavy weights that could damage the board. A good tape holds firmly and is invisible to the eye, because you can match the color to the stoneor choose the transparent version.
Waterproof tapes work best because they stick well to uneven surfaces even in the rain. However, before you attach the bouquet to the tombstone, be sure to wipe the board clean of dust and moisture so that the glue sticks and avoid gluing it to gold-plated elements.
There are also other reasons to take tape to the cemetery. Similarly to bouquets, you can also glue light candles to the tombstone, which also do not seem to be stable. This will prevent them from falling over and you will avoid collecting glass, because the glass lanterns could break.
You can also use double-sided tape to stick plastic stands on the tombstone so that they don’t move. You can also use it to attach additional elements to the decoration, e.g. twigs or, and you can quickly attach elements that have fallen off.
