A video shows the moment the GNR stopped a fleeing van in Costa da Caparica, after an intense pursuit of a group suspected of home robberies. The case occurred this Tuesday, at the entrance to the city, and ended with the driver shot.
The van, with Spanish registration plates and eight men in it, went the wrong way at the roundabout leading to Costa da Caparica, ignoring the authorities’ orders to stop. Faced with the danger of the maneuver, the GNR soldiers fired, managing to immobilize the vehicle.
Six suspects were arrested and taken to the PSP Lisbon Metropolitan Command, while the injured driver was transported to the hospital. The operation included collaboration between the PSP and GNR, who were already following the group due to a series of thefts in homes.
