Children’s beauty contest is the target of investigation in SP – 10/22/2025 – Panel

A cattle rancher party in caused controversy among residents and ended in a complaint to the São Paulo Public Prosecutor’s Office.

The event had votes to choose based on aesthetic standards of the queen, princess and godmother among children aged between 7 and 12 years old (queen category) and teenagers aged 13 to 17 years old.

A made a representation to the Public Prosecutor’s Office on the 14th, arguing that the beauty contest, held with public funds, exposed the children’s privacy.

“The situation narrated is evidently in violation of such principles enshrined in the ECA (Digital Statute of and of). The competition in question involves exposure of the children’s bodies and the emotional and psychological aspects of the young people involved”, says the piece.

Another aspect is that the exhibition would go against the precautions that Brazilian society has adopted.

In the representation, the bench asks that the Public Prosecutor’s Office request the City of Piracaia to collect all publicity material, especially images containing children and teenagers, in addition to holding those involved in holding the dance accountable.

The bench brings together co-deputies Paula Nunes, Carolina Iara, Simone Nascimento, Mariana Souza and Sirlene Maciel.

Sought by the Panel since Monday (20), the management of the mayor of Piracaia, André Rogério (PL), did not comment until the publication of this text.
