Eurocidade do Guadiana will be present at the Wine and Sea Fair – VIMAR 2025, which takes place on the 28th and 29th of October, in the Santa Fe multipurpose space, in the center of Huelva. Participation aims to promote “the main values of the cross-border territory located at the mouth of the Guadiana River, in the municipalities of Ayamonte, Castro Marim and Vila Real de Santo António.”
According to the cross-border entity, “Eurocidade do Guadiana will once again be present at the VIMAR 2025 Wine and Sea Fair to promote the main values of the cross-border territory located at the mouth of the Guadiana River, in the municipalities of Ayamonte, Castro Marim and Vila Real de Santo António.”
Eurocidade will have its own stand at the fair grounds, where there will be tourist information agents from the three municipalities, in a space dedicated to promoting the cultural, heritage and tourist offerings of each municipality. “The stand will not only present the individual offerings of each city, but will also offer the opportunity to enjoy the different themed routes of the Território Museu that connect the territory and cross the three municipalities.”
The Território Museu project is described by Eurocidade as “a museum space with more than 500 square kilometers where we can find routes with castles and fortresses, religious heritage, ethnographic routes, walking and cycling routes, and spaces for bird watching.”
This initiative transforms the cross-border territory “into a consolidated and shared tourist destination, promoting the flow of visitors between municipalities and highlighting its identity and shared resources over centuries of exchanges on the oldest border in Europe.”
The common identity between the two banks of the Guadiana will also be celebrated through gastronomy, with a joint cooking show by chefs Jossara Martins (Muxama, Monte Gordo) and Joaquín Nacimiento (Meraki, Ayamonte), who will prepare socarrat rice with blue crab, an emblematic product of the Guadiana ecosystem.
Chef Joaquín Nacimiento graduated from the Islantilla Hotel Management School and the Centro Basque Culinari, specializing in haute cuisine. He worked in prestigious restaurants such as Calima (Dani García), Nerua (Josean Alija) and Ibérica, in London, with Nacho Manzano, in addition to having worked at a five-star hotel in Norway. He currently runs the Meraki restaurant, in Ayamonte, considered a reference in the region.
In turn, chef Jossara Martins, born in the Algarve, graduated from the Hotel School of Vila Real de Santo António and worked in several renowned restaurants, including Il Gallo D’Oro (Funchal), Chapitô, Assinatura (Lisbon) and Vistas (Vila Nova de Cacela). She is currently a chef at Muxama, in Monte Gordo, and a trainer at the same school where she studied.
With its presence in , Eurocidade do Guadiana reinforces its role as a cross-border cooperation platform, which unites culture, tourism and gastronomy between Portugal and Spain, promoting the region’s joint brand.
