The South Korean military claims that its neighbor fired ballistic missiles towards the East Sea – also known as the Sea – on Tuesday night (21/10), Brasília time – 8am on Wednesday (22/10) local time.
Monitoring by the South Korean military identified that the ballistic missiles departed from Hwanghae province, in North Korea. The Japanese government reported having found no evidence that the missiles had fallen into the country’s waters.
The region that would be the target of the shots is towards South Korea. The information comes from Japan Wire.
“Our military has intensified monitoring in preparation for (the possibility of) additional launches and is maintaining a firm stance of readiness by sharing relevant information with the US and Japan,” says an excerpt from a statement released by the South Korean joint chiefs of staff.
