“Together, after 2016, we skipped a lot, through declaration of Children’s Town as a National Cultural Monument (NKP) of the Slovak Republic, subsequently, in 2023, the writing of the book Children’s Town in Pictures, which maps the dismal state of the architectural and educational state of the entire area,” said Ladický.

He added that the idea of declaring the Children’s Town area and entering it into the list of NKP SR came from the architect himself. “It is true that I gave the initiative as an angry child of the fascinating idea of a Children’s Town, but without the architect Petr Brtek and the first director and long-time first man of the city of Trenčín Mr. Štefan Rehák, I would not have succeeded,” noted Ladický, who, together with Brtek, is the author of the book Children’s Town in Pictures.

Peter Brtko was born on August 23, 1938 in Bratislava. In 1975, he received the Dušan Jurkovič Award for the realization of the Children’s Town Trenčín – Zlatovce, in 2013 the Fine Arts Fund Award for his significant contribution in the field of architecture.

In 2017 (November 8), the Monuments Office of the Slovak Republic issued a decision declaring the Children’s Home with its grounds in Trenčín – Zlatovce a national cultural monument.
