Donald Trump’s second term in office is not only influencing American society, but is now also changing the White House, the official seat of government for the US presidents. On Tuesday it was announced that demolition work had begun on the east wing – traditionally the first lady’s area – to build an 8,000 square meter ballroom. On his platform Truth Social Trump explained that the ballroom would be built completely independently of the White House, but at the same time the east wing would be “modernized and more beautiful than ever” as part of the work.
