“I have the same energy as when I was 30 years old”, says the president; statement was made this Thursday, in Indonesia
The president (PT) announced this Thursday (23.Oct.2025) his candidacy for re-election. The statement was made alongside the President of Indonesia, (Gerindra Party, right), during the signing ceremony at Merdeka Palace, in Jakarta.
Subianto had said that he admired Lula for already being in his 3rd term, adding, with laughter, that under Indonesian law this is not possible. About to turn 80 on October 27, the Brazilian president then responded: “I want to tell you that I will be 80 years old, but you can be sure that I have the same energy as when I was 30 years old. And I will run for a 4th term in Brazil”.
“I’m telling you this because we will still meet many times. My mandate only ends at the end of 2026, but I am prepared to contest other elections and try to make the relationship between Indonesia and Brazil very valuable”Lula told the president of Indonesia.

Lula is now ahead of all his main opponents in 2nd round simulations, outside the margin of error, as indicated by the Poder360. The PT member has 45% to 47% in all 2nd round simulations.
Lula has already won 3 of the 6 presidential elections he contested – without considering the 2018 election, in which he was and then for the TSE. He also helped elect (PT) as president in 2010 and re-elect her in 2014. He is the politician with the most experience in presidential elections in Brazil.
