The government of São Paulo states that the measures to preserve the level of water reservoirs in the current dry period generated savings equivalent to consumption during two months in the cities of Santo André, São Bernardo do Campo, Diadema and Mauá.
Among the actions taken are aea. As a result, 25 billion liters of water were saved from the sources of the Integrated Metropolitan System.
The action is coordinated by the Secretariat of Environment, Infrastructure and Logistics, with support from the regulatory agencies Arsesp and SP Águas.
The São Paulo government foresees new preventive measures with the forecast of below-average rainfall. Among them, registration for donation and installation of water tanks for families under the Tarifa Social Paulista. The action is planned for a scenario in which the drought continues until November.
