The body of one of the people missing in the floods in Valencia, eastern Spain, on October 29 last year was found and identified this week, local authorities said this Thursday.
The body was identified using DNA analysis, which confirmed that it was a man who disappeared “during the floods” almost a year ago, the Valencia court said in a statement.
In the floods of October 29, 2024, 229 people died in the Valencia region, the same court confirmed.
The identification of this body does not change the number of victims, since all the people missing that day had already been reported dead by the authorities, he explained.

The body identified this week was found on Tuesday afternoon by employees of the public company Tragsa during rubble removal work next to the Túria River.
