In autumn, I crave cakes like these – delicate, with a hint of cinnamon. If we add thin apple slices, the result is a delicious dessert, perfect for a weekend, for example. This is one of my proven recipes that I make at least once in October.

  • 550 g of wheat flour,
  • 400ml kefiru,
  • 220 g sugar,
  • 1 pack of vanilla sugar,
  • 120 ml of oil,
  • 3 eggs,
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder,
  • 2 apples,
  • 2 teaspoons of potato flour,
  • a bit of cinnamon.

Wash the apples, peel and cut into thin slices.

Sprinkle them with potato flour and a pinch of cinnamon, thanks to which they will not release juice and will brown nicely during baking.

In a large bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar and vanilla sugar. The mass will become light and fluffy. Then gradually pour in the oil and kefir, mixing until the ingredients are combined.

Sift the flour with baking powder and gradually add it to the mixture, mixing at low speed with a mixer or a spatula. The dough should be smooth and thick, but slightly pouring.

Line a tin measuring approximately 25 × 30 cm with baking paper and pour the dough into it. Place an even layer of apple slices on top, pressing them lightly into the dough.

Place in the oven preheated to 180°C and bake for 45-50 minutes.
