Lionel Messi will continue wearing the Inter Miami shirt. The North American club announced, this Thursday (23), the renewal of the number 10’s contract, reinforcing the player’s commitment to the project that began in 2023.
The announcement was made with a post on the team’s social media, in which Messi appears signing the extension of his contract at Miami Freedom Park, a stadium that is still under construction. The publication had the phrase: “He’s at home.”

Values and time of the new contract between Messi and Inter Miami
Messi’s new contract is valid until December 2028, while the previous one would come to an end at the end of 2025. However, according to the Spanish newspaper Marca, the termination of the contract will be subject to the Argentine star’s wishes at the end of each year.
The value of the new salary was not disclosed. However, it is known that the 38-year-old player’s previous salaries are around 20 million dollars (around R$107.7 million), approximately 50% of the club’s remaining salaries.
The objective of the renewal is for Messi to continue actively participating in the games in Miami and winning titles, so that he can arrive well for the 2026 World Cup, which will be the sixth of the athlete’s career, a world record.
The Argentine arrived at the club in July 2023, after leaving PSG. Inter Miami is the third team in Messi’s professional career, who made history at Barcelona.
