The minister of the (Supreme Federal Court) denied this Wednesday (22) the request made by the defense of (PL) for the former president to receive a visit from the president of , .
At the suggestion of Moraes, the First Panel of the Supreme Court against the leader of the Liberal Party for alleged participation in the coup plot.
As a result of this Tuesday’s decision (21), the case’s rapporteur vetoed the visit to Bolsonaro. The minister recalled that in August this year he prohibited Bolsonaro from maintaining contact with ambassadors or any foreign authorities, as well as with other defendants and those under investigation in the criminal actions of the coup plot or Pet 12.100. The latter is where the investigation against Valdemar will take place.
Valdemar was prevented from talking to Bolsonaro for more than a year during Federal Police investigations into the attempted coup d’état. The PL president was indicted at the conclusion of the investigation, but the (Attorney General’s Office) decided not to report him to the .
The reopening of the inquiry was decided by the majority of the collegiate ministers, defeating the position defended by the minister.
The suggestion was given by Moraes when voting for , president of the Instituto Voto Legal, hired by the Liberal Party in 2022 to produce a report against electronic voting machines.
