Pedro Bial on Live CNN: “Freedom implies listening to what the other says”

The presenter Pedro Bial67, visited the newsroom of CNN to participate in the program Live CNN. In chat with Elisa Veeckthe communicator delivers details of the book he heads about Isabel Salgado, “Isabel of the volleyball of life: The highest wave in Ipanema”, in addition to bringing reflections on the practice of journalism today.

Talking about the challenges of the profession, Pedro Bial defines them as “finding your concept of what freedom is”.

“Freedom means listening to what the other person has to say. It’s much more than expressing and saying what you think, what you think. I want to honestly and faithfully reproduce what I heard, what I witnessed, that’s our role as a journalist”, says Bial.

The guest also reflects on how to exercise freedom. “None of us is totally free, we are conditioned by our class, profession. If we know a little about ourselves, our limits, desires and our ambitions, but also recognize any defects, you can exercise freedom in a more consistent and responsible way.”
