Restituted Waldmüller painting auctioned at Dorotheum for 520,000 euros

Vienna – The painting that was only restituted in the summer Hansl’s first exit by Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller was auctioned at the Dorotheum in Vienna for 520,000 euros. The genre painting by the well-known Austrian Biedermeier painter was offered on Wednesday evening as part of the Dorotheum’s “Classic Week” with an estimate of 400,000 to 600,000 euros. It comes from the property of the Jewish Viennese entrepreneur Grete Klein.
