The Vicentina Association, in partnership with A3PR – Association for the Promotion of Rural Heritage, organized this Tuesday a session dedicated to the farms that are part of the recently created “Rota das Quintas”, within the scope of the Rotas Rurais – Bensafrim, Barão de S. João and Odiáxere project.
According to the Associação Vicentina, the Rotas Rurais project’s main objective is “the valorization and dissemination of the heritage of rural territory, with a special focus on archaeological heritage and the structuring of a route centered on farms with agricultural production”.

The initiative also aims to “promote the multifunctionality of farms, reinforce pedagogical value and highlight the tourist potential of these farms”.
The session took place at the headquarters and was led by the team itself, with the support of A3PR. During the meeting, materials produced as part of the project were presented, including promotional videos and the new signage implemented on participating farms.

For Manuel Canelas, director of A3PR, this project “was a very important first step towards boosting joint actions, some of which are already underway”, highlighting the relevance of cooperation “for the joint valorization of rural heritage”.
The Rural Routes project – Bensafrim, Barão de S. João and Odiáxere is supported by the Rural Development Program (PDR2020), within the scope of Measure No. 10 LEADER, Operation 10.2.1.6 – Village Renovation, and aims to strengthen the connection between rural communities, sustainable tourism and knowledge of the Algarve territory.
