On Thursday, the trial of František B., accused of the murder that was supposed to have taken place in March in Ivanka near the Danube after a previous conflict, began at the Bratislava I Municipal Court. The defendant maintains his innocence. In his statement, he described in detail the entire situation that preceded and followed the victim’s death. The victim’s wife also testified. The trial is scheduled to continue on November 27.

According to the defendant, the whole incident started with the victim walking his dog on František B.’s property, which was also a hunting ground. The defendant saw him there from his car and should have asked the deceased to leave the property, as the property was the said area. He was then supposed to exchange several profanities with the victim. According to him, when František B. thought that the conflict was over, the victim should have hit the back of his car.

The defendant described how, as a result, he pushed himself out of the window to see what had happened, the victim should have hit him in the nose, as a result of which he broke it, at the same time the defendant should have fainted for a few seconds. However, František B. could not say what the victim could have used to hit him in the nose. The defendant claimed that after he was taken over, the victim was pushed onto his car. He also showed this at the request of the prosecutor.

As František B. continued, he pulled out a weapon as a result of the attack on his person, when he and the victim subsequently met at the weapon’s hand, which then fired. The defendant added that his index finger was on the frame of the weapon at the time of the collision.

The victim’s wife also testified before the court. She was supposed to get a call that day from her son, who told her that his father ended the call because someone was yelling at him while walking the dog. As a result, she went to the place where the tragic events took place. “I was told that my husband did not survive. When I returned home, I learned from the Internet that my husband had been shot,” she added.

At the end of March, a man died from a gunshot wound in the cadastre of Ivanka pri Dunaji village in the Senec district. Therefore, the police started a criminal investigation. There was supposed to be a conflict between two men on the spot, while one of them suffered a gunshot wound in the head area, which he succumbed to on the spot. The investigator accused František B. of the particularly serious crime of murder. The prosecutor later proposed for the accused the so-called preventive detention.

The regional court in Bratislava took the accused man into custody at the beginning of April. He thus complied with the prosecutor’s complaint against the decision of the first-instance court, which decided to prosecute František B. at large.
