Stronger winds may blow in the mountains of central Slovakia on Saturday (October 25). This is pointed out by the Slovak Meteorological Institute (SHMÚ), which issued warnings of the first degree. He informs about it on his website.
Warnings apply to districts Banská Bystrica, Brezno, Poprad, Dolný Kubín, Liptovský Mikuláš, Martin, Námestovo, Ružomberok and Tvrdošín. Above the forest zone, meteorologists expect winds that can reach gusts speed 110 to 135 km/h, on average 70 to 85 km/h, which is a gale.
“The expected wind speed represents a potential danger for human activities, especially for hiking and mountain climbing,” reminds SHMÚ. The warnings are provisionally valid from Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to midnight from Saturday to Sunday (October 26).
