The government of will use R$ 33 million from the court agreement in Mariana (MG), to buy a helicopter for the fleet of the operations and air transport nucleus of the Casa Militar secretariat.
The information is published in the state’s Official Gazette. In it, the Secretary of State for Recovery of Rio Doce, João Guerino Balestrassi, states that the resources are for support and execution of projects and integrated actions to comply with the .
The agreement was approved by the STF (Supreme Federal Court) in November last year and determined that they would have to pay R$170 billion, of which R$100 billion to the governments of Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo and the federal government, in 20 installments, for application in environmental and socioeconomic projects, preferably in the Doce River basin area.

The government of (PSB) says that the aircraft will be used in environmental inspection and monitoring actions.
“This cooperation agreement meets the requirements of Annex 12 of the New Rio Doce Agreement, list 6 – item LXX, which provides for the reform, modernization, equipment and logistical improvements of the physical structures and public administration services”, it states.
According to the note, the vehicle should be delivered to the government in the first half of 2026.
“The aircraft will respond to incidents along the entire length of the Doce River in Espírito Santo territory, in addition to carrying out, in partnership with the federal government, environmental monitoring and inspection in the marine region of Espírito Santo, which is the mouth of the Doce River and was also affected by the biggest environmental disaster ever recorded in the country”, he indicates.
The note sent to the Panel states that the helicopter base will be at Linhares airport, a city that is part of the Rio Doce Basin, which “will facilitate the work of servicing and moving the aircraft to the municipalities that are included in the New Rio Doce Agreement, approved by the STF in November 2024.”
