Bosnia and Herzegovina detained two Hungarian citizens for espionage. They were subsequently expelled based on the discovery of their illegal activities.
In Bosnia and Herzegovina, two Hungarian citizens involved in espionage were arrested and subsequently deported this week. On Friday, the Service for Foreign Affairs under the Ministry of Security informed about it, writes TASR based on a report by the Hina agency.
Two Hungarians were arrested in the town of Banoviči near Tuzla following a civil complaint. According to the investigation, their goal in Bosnia and Herzegovina was to monitor and document the meeting of two other unnamed foreigners.
Expulsion from the country
“Due to the fact that these foreign nationals were engaged in illegal activities, the Service revoked their visa-free status and expelled them from Bosnia and Herzegovina. They left the country on October 23 through the Karakaj border crossing with Serbia,” the statement said.
The authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina did not say who the two Hungarians were following or whose orders they were following. The police in the city of Tuzla identified the men as 73-year-old GB, who according to local media used to work for Hungarian military counter-intelligence and currently runs a private detective agency, and 63-year-old JG.
