There is no fruit like fruit. Some are full of water, others contain a large amount of fiber, vitamins or minerals, varying amounts of sugar or acids. Kiwi is no more miraculous than other species, but it has a round stamp from the EU on its positive effects! No one will take this primacy away from him.

What is a kiwi and where does it come from?

Kiwifruit, more specifically green kiwifruit of the ‘Hayward’ variety, is a well-known supermarket fruit. It got there about 35 years ago, when it traveled to us from distant New Zealand. However, it originally comes from China, which is also why it was previously called “Chinese gooseberry pear”. However, today the largest part of the production comes from New Zealand, Italy and also Chile. but you can also with us.

The plant is a climbing vine that needs support and moist, well-drained soil. The taste of kiwi is refreshing, slightly sour and at the same time slightly sweet and aromatic, so it will please almost everyone.

How do you eat kiwi? Do you cut in half and scoop out with a spoon? It’s practical and fast. But you can also peel the whole kiwi quite easily. In a post from the Adam Novotný YouTube channel, Adam kutil will show you how to do it.

World championship and EU

The Kiwi has won at least one world first, a legal one. It is the first fresh fruit in the EU whose effects on digestion are legally confirmed. The European Union has approved the claim that consumption of green kiwi contributes to normal bowel function by increasing stool frequency.

There is no problem in the fact that other types of fruit are not healthy. On the contrary, apples, pears or plums support digestion, however the EU requires very precise and strictly scientific evidence, a clearly defined variety and daily dose to allow the claim. Green kiwifruit ‘Hayward’ met these requirements. The studies were well done, the effect clear and repeatable, so it rightly received authorization.

This is important for optimal peristalsis, i.e. bowel movement. But that’s not all. In addition, kiwi also contains the enzyme actinidain, which facilitates the breakdown of proteins and overall supports digestion. It is therefore also a part of different ones.

In addition, kiwi provides:
