An explosion occurred on Wednesday night at a munitions factory in the city of Kopeysk in , about 1,600 km from the Ukrainian border.
The Russian news agency TASS reports that at least ten people have been killed in the explosion, 18 others have been injured and searches for missing persons are ongoing. Five of the injured are in serious condition.
The cause of the explosion has not yet been determined, while Russian authorities say that reports of a Ukrainian drone have not been confirmed.
The fire that started after the explosion has been brought under control.
According to the governor of the Chelyabinsk region, Alexei Teksler, all emergency services have arrived at the scene, while clarifying that there is no threat to the city’s residents or civilian facilities.
