The police charged a 46-year-old man from Poprad who physically assaulted his partner after an argument. The regional police spokeswoman from Prešov, Jana Ligdayová, informed that he also threatened to kill her. The incident happened some time ago in Poprad.

“There was an argument at home between him and the woman, which culminated in the man physically assaulting the woman. He pushed her to the ground, where he repeatedly hit her on the head, strangled her, while threatening to kill her and her family throughout the attack. All this if she leaves him“, the spokeswoman added.
The attacked woman later managed to escape from the apartment. The injuries she suffered during the attack required treatment and subsequent treatment.
The called police patrol detained the aggressive man on the spot and he ended up in a police detention cell. An authorized member of the Regional Department of the Police Force in Poprad accused him of the crime of dangerous threats. If he is found guilty in court, he faces a prison sentence of six months to three years.
