In addition to functionality, the air terminal’s architecture incorporates cultural elements, with 5 external courtyards inspired by themes such as silk, tea, countryside, porcelain and Chinese garden. The terminal houses exhibitions, a library and cultural presentations on holidays, in partnership with museums and institutions.

The hub also seeks to implement environmental preservation initiatives. For this reason, the airport uses natural light, ventilation systems, solar energy and ice storage for air conditioning.

Until 2028, the management of Daxing International Airport has set different goals. Here are the main ones:

  • serve 72 million passengers;
  • move 2 million tons of cargo;
  • carry out 630 thousand air operations per year.

Currently, the complex already brings together operations, connections and cultural activities in a single space. In addition, it groups highways, subways and high-speed rail lines.
