Federal judge Eduardo Appio, who detonated Operation Lava Jato and cast severe suspicion on the actions of former judge Sérgio Moro and former public prosecutor Deltan Dallagnol – architects of the investigation that brought down a solid corruption scheme and cartel at Petrobras (2003/2014) – is mentioned in an unusual police incident, in which he himself is the target for an alleged attempt to steal money. three bottles of French Möet&Chandon champagne in a supermarket in Blumenau, Santa Catarina.

An entire chapter is reserved for Moro, the protagonist of Lava Jato. This excerpt is titled “How Moro politicized the Judiciary”. The comments range from the black shirts that the former judge had a habit of wearing to his doctoral thesis.
In a passage, Eduardo Appio recalls that, upon assuming the position of head of the 13th Court of Curitiba, he had enormous difficulty in locating himself in the collection of cases: “From an objective point of view, Sérgio Moro, without a doubt, is the worst manager I have ever met. Instead of giving some organicity to the processes, he created a true cipoal, in which judges, lawyers, advisors, whatever they were, got lost. This seems to have been done in a intentional, to serve personal interests.”
