A the holding company that owns the Ipiranga Produtos de Petróleo SA and Ultragaz Participações Ltda. groups, signed a contract this Friday (24.Oct.2025) to acquire 37.5% of Participationsa liquefied natural gas (LNG) logistics company. The operation is valued at R$ 102.5 millionof which R$85 million will be allocated to capital investment in the company. Read the of the statement (PDF – 84 kB).
With the acquisition of the stake, Ultrapar will become part of Virtu’s controlling block together with the infrastructure investment fund Perfin Infra. The two companies will hold 75% of the company’s voting capital. Virtu’s founding partner, José Moura Jr., will remain a relevant shareholder, with a 25% stake.
Virtu operates in the LNG logistics segment, providing services both for its own use and for Eneva customers, through a joint venture. The company also offers logistics services powered by LNG, including the operation of fueling centers for its fleet of trucks powered by the fuel.
In a note to the market, Ultrapar stated that its entry into the LNG segment is part of “investment strategy in new sectors in which it can contribute to the creation of value, with high potential for growth and profitability”.
The completion of the transaction still depends on regulatory approvals and the fulfillment of usual precedent conditions in this type of transaction.
