Especially for the north of Slovakia, on Monday (October 27), they issued warnings of the second degree against wind in the mountains. Meteorologists warn of a strong to powerful gale. In the districts of Tvrdošín and Poprad, stronger winds should be expected even at lower altitudes. The Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMÚ) reported about it on the website.
The second level of warnings against wind in the mountains will apply on Monday from 12:00 in most of the Žilina region, as well as in the districts of Poprad, Banská Bystrica and Brezno. SHMÚ warns that the wind can reach an average speed of 90 to 105 kilometers per hour. After 7:00 p.m., they issued a first-level warning in the given areas.
In the districts of Poprad and Tvrdošín, a first-level wind warning will apply from 12:00 to 19:00. According to meteorologists, the wind here can reach an average speed of around 45 kilometers per hour.
