Leaders and congressmen cited the country’s “sovereignty” and stated that “dialogue won”
Government politicians celebrated this Sunday (Oct 26, 2025) the meeting between the president (PT) and the president of the United States, (Republican Party), in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). The 2 leaders are in the Asian country for the 47th Asean (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Summit.
The conversation immediately ended the 50% tariffs imposed by the USA on Brazilian products, but Trump agreed to start bilateral negotiations on the topic this Sunday (Oct 26). According to Brazilian authorities, the dialogue was marked by a tone of respect, in which the North American “He listened more than he spoke.”
On social media, deputies and senators from the allied base highlighted the “firm” and the “pragmatism” of Lula before the North American leader.
