The smell of bananas and oatmeal, the kitchen flows and the cake is often prepared when there is a need to quickly solve a treat with coffee or tea. Today, when we try to spend as little time as possible in the kitchen, we find that it has something that other desserts often lack, namely honesty, simplicity and, above all, speed of preparation.
Easy banana cake step by step
Raw materials:
- 2 ripe bananas
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon butter or coconut oil
- 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup oat flour
- 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup chopped chocolate
Procedure:
First, mash the bananas with a fork until smooth. Then prepare a dry mixture of both types of flour, oatmeal, baking soda, baking powder and cinnamon. Melt butter or coconut oil and combine with milk, add mashed bananas and mix. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture and mix until a smooth dough is formed. Finally, stir in the chocolate.
“Bananas combined with oatmeal create the perfect texture. The natural sweetness of the fruit combined with the subtle aroma of butter creates a dessert that’s delicious even without the added sugar,” says healthy baking expert Amy Chaplin.
Pour the dough into the prepared mold and smooth the surface. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, until the cake is golden brown and a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool for a while, remove from the pan and serve.
Tips for improvement
If you want the cake to be even smoother, add a spoonful of yogurt or applesauce. And those who like a more pronounced taste can finely grind part of the oatmeal to give the cake a finer texture.
Banana cake is the perfect dessert for any season. It’s quick, cheap and perfectly sweet. The aroma of bananas and oatmeal wafting from the oven will immediately remind you of the well-being that should prevail when eating it.
