In an institutional video, the party of senator Ciro Nogueira (PI) says that “Brazil has its future strangled by the lack of security”; new identity was launched at a forum on the topic held in São Paulo
The president of the Progressives Party, announced this Saturday (October 25, 2025) the party’s new slogan: “Brazil of the Future is a Safer Brazil”. The new identity replaces the motto “Opportunity for All”.
Ciro launched the new motto during the 3rd day of the Public Security Forum for Brazil, held in São Paulo. “Brazil will not move forward until crime pays off. Security is a condition for development, investment and freedom”these. The senator stated that the slogan reflects the party’s view that security is an essential pillar for the country’s development.
Public security is at the center of a clash between the president’s government (PT) and representatives of the opposition to his administration, especially right-wing governors, such as (Republicans), from São Paulo. It will also be one of the main themes of the 2026 elections, both in the dispute for the Presidency and in the clashes in the States.
On October 22, the Ministry of Justice launched the Município Mais Seguro program, which will inject more than R$170 million into financing municipal guards in 215 Brazilian cities. The measure includes the purchase of “non-lethal instruments”such as neuromuscular incapacitation weapons and pepper sprayers.
On the same day, Minister Ricardo Lewandowski (Justice) said that a bill that toughens the fight against organized crime. The proposal increases penalties, creates the criminal type of “qualified criminal organization” and authorizes measures to monitor and block assets linked to factions. The minister also said that the proposal of agents and collaborators in criminal factions, with judicial authorization and false identities.
In an institutional video released on social media this Saturday, the PP states that Brazil is being strangled by the lack of security. “40 years after redemocratization, the Brazil of the present has had its future strangled by the lack of security”, he states.

Progressistas states that the concept of security goes beyond protection against crime, and also iincludes food, legal, energy and technological security, areas that, according to the party, depend on efficient public security to guarantee the functioning of society and the protection of citizens.
The launch of the new slogan also takes place 1 days after President Lula made one on the topic during his trip to Indonesia. “Every time we talk about fighting drugs, it would probably be easier for us to fight our addicts internally, the users. The users are responsible for the drug dealers, who are victims of the users too”he said. Faced with the terrible repercussion of his speech, the PT member himself recanted through his social networks. He said the phrase was “poorly placed.” Afterwards, Secom (Presidency Communications Secretariat) note in which he says that the Lula government “does not tolerate drug trafficking and acts with rigor and intelligence actions”.
