Slovaks were touched by the story of Elena Podzámská. The actress revealed her hidden suffering to the whole nation in the show In seventh heaven on TV JOJ with moderator Vil Rozboril. The artist has gone through a difficult period when she faced a lack of acting work and serious problems. She did not give up, she underwent treatment and finally luck smiled on her in the form of love.
Her acting colleague Hana Gregorová for she honestly said what she thought about the confession. “I played with Eňa. She was very nice. I think everyone should get a second chance. Whether he uses it is still in God’s hands,” said the actress. Gregorová and Podzámska starred together in the comedy series Odsúdené (2009-2010) and also in the series Chlapi neplačú (2013-2015), which was broadcast by Markíza.
The artist has only the best memories of filming, as well as of Podzámsk. “We were a good team. Eňa was very pleasant, clever… her daughter was small at the time. It will probably be 20 years now. But she was an excellent colleague, a clever actress, a very nice voice,” Hana listed the advantages that stuck in her memory even after years.
She is an abstinent alcoholic
Podzámska stated in the show In Seventh Heaven that the situation got out of her hands. “I became addicted to alcohol, drugs, benzodiazepines. That’s a killer combination. I didn’t want to live. I completely lost the desire and motivation for life and wanted to leave, but luckily I realized that this will either be the end or a completely new beginning,” she confessed.
She frankly admits that she is already an abstinent alcoholic. She previously lost her job due to these problems. “Under such a condition, I started losing my job and job opportunities. Of course, I tried to control my work, but it gets out of hand. They can see it in you. Everyone sees it,” she stated bitterly. Thanks to the show, she got a job as a receptionist in one of the hotels in Prešov. She also received an offer for cooperation from the general director of the Košice National Theatre, Ondrej Šoth, in order to she could return to her beloved acting.
What she went through and how she is today resonated with her former colleagues. “It will affect me, of course, just… I don’t want to say it badly. I have never, under any circumstances, resorted to alcohol or anything. But that depends on how a person comes into this world. Whether he has the strength to fight against some unpleasantness or not. That’s it. I’m not judging anyone. I can understand that. Of course, I’m keeping my fingers crossed for her to succeed,” Gregorová confessed.
When asked if she would lend a helping hand to a person in a similar situation, she answered bluntly. “What kind of help can I give? That’s very relative. The point here is for her to go back to work again, to find herself, to not let those people down. There is nothing worse than being disappointed. If she got an offer in the theater, dubbing and didn’t come, that’s terrible. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that she always keeps her word and that she succeeds.” sent Podzámska’s strong link.
